Dedicated to the memory of Jon Edwards

This site is a tribute to Jon Edwards. He is much loved and will always be remembered.  He passed away peacefully on the morning of 12th February, with his sister Lisa and mother Kath by his side, also Lesley, who stayed with him throughout his short stay at Leicester Royal Infirmary, and looked after him at his last home at The Old Schoolhouse in Thringstone.

Jon had many challenges, physically and mentally, from the start of his life, but he was a content, mischievious, chatty and cheerful character right up to his most recent illness.  Much loved by Kath,Tony, and Lisa, and remembered by all who met him.  Uncle and playmate to Kathryn and Joseph, he loved being around other people.

Jon had a great love of ticking watches and rhythmic music, enjoyed a tinkle on his aunt and uncle's piano, and dabbled with drums and guitar.  He loved the heavy electric guitar rock style of Status Quo in particular, and would drum along with his drinking straw on a family night out at Ashby Road Sports Club on Saturdays, for which he enjoyed getting dressed up in his nicest fashionable clothes.

He also enjoyed Loony Tunes cartoons and Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds and Stingray that he remembered from his childhood, and the slapstick comedy so prevalent at the time.  His constant companion became a mail order catalogue, which he spent hours leafing through and pointing to and naming recognised items, and was a window onto the world.
